Shree Laxmi Watch Co is situated at 73/8 Parvati Darshan Building, which is part of the Ashoka Centre. It’s a bit of a walk through the building to find us, but once you’re here, it’s a quiet little spot. The building itself has been around for a while, and you can tell by the way the hallways look. Our shop isn't very big, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need into the space. There are rows of small plastic drawers filled with gears, hands, and stems for all kinds of different watches. The lighting in the Ashoka Centre can be a bit dim sometimes, so we have extra lamps at the work stations to make sure we can see the tiny details. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the shop looks to outsiders; we’re more concerned with making sure the watches we fix actually work when they leave. It’s a very practical environment with no frills or unnecessary decorations. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they happen to be in Parvati Darshan for something else. We keep a small stool near the counter for customers to sit on if they have to wait for a quick battery replacement. It’s just a normal, everyday shop where we do our best to keep things ticking along. We’ve been in this building for quite some time now and the routine stays pretty much the same day in and day out.
