Shree Ganesh Steel Arts is situated in Pimple Saudagar, right on Desai Road. If you are looking for us, we are tucked behind Govind Garden. It is a workshop where the smell of welding and the sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much constant. We make things out of steel—gates, grills, frames, and whatever else the local people need for their houses. It is a dusty place and we have got scrap metal piled up in the corners. Pimple Saudagar has grown so much lately, and there are new buildings going up everywhere, so we stay pretty busy with orders. We don't have a salesperson or a marketing team. Usually, people just walk in off Desai Road with a rough drawing or a measurement. We talk it over, agree on a price, and then we get to work with the cutters and the welders. The shop isn't anything pretty to look at, just a functional space where we get our hands dirty. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because the design is tricky, but we finish it anyway. It is just a local workshop doing practical things for the neighborhood. We have been behind Govind Garden for years and we don't plan on moving anywhere else. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but seeing a finished gate look solid makes it worth it.
