Shree Ganesh Departmental Stores

If you go to No. 10 Sasoon Road, right opposite the Pune Railway Station, you will find Shree Ganesh Departmental Stores. It is a busy spot because of the station being right there. There is always a crowd and people are always in a hurry to catch their trains or coming back home. We have all sorts of things stacked on the shelves, from daily necessities to small bits and pieces you might have forgotten to pack. The shop gets quite cramped when it is full of customers, but we manage. We have been here for a good amount of time and seen the area change a lot. The noise of the trains and the traffic is something we don't even notice anymore. It is a family-run kind of thing, so you will usually see one of us behind the counter. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Everything is just kept where it fits. Sometimes it’s hard to find things in the back, but we know where everything is eventually. Being across from the station means we see a lot of different faces every day. It’s hard work standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next traveler or local to walk in. It is just a regular store for regular people.
