Shiv Steel Art is located in Pimpri, right across from the Bharat Gas station. If you’re driving by, you can usually hear us before you see us. There’s almost always the sound of metal being cut or the bright flash of a welding torch going off. We work with steel to make all sorts of things, mostly practical items like gates, grills, and frames. It’s a workshop, not a gallery, so it’s full of scrap metal, heavy tools, and the smell of burnt iron. We aren't really into the whole "art" scene in a fancy way, even if it's in our name. To us, the art is just making sure the weld is strong and the steel is straight. Pimpri is a big industrial area, so we fit right in with the noise and the grit of the neighborhood. We’ve been here for a good bit, and we have a few guys who have been with us since the start. We don't have a website or a salesperson. Most of our work comes from people just dropping by because they saw what we did for their neighbor. We don't use any scripts when we talk to customers; we just look at the job, give a price, and get to work. It’s physical, tiring work, but there is something nice about seeing a finished gate at the end of the day. We just do our thing and try to keep the steel moving.
