Shiv Communication is located right in the heart of Bhosarigoan 2. It is a small space, probably smaller than most people’s living rooms. We have a glass counter that stretches across the front of the shop. It has a few scratches on it from years of people sliding things back and forth. The floor is made of that old green marble that stays cold in the winter. We have a few plastic stools for customers to sit on, though most people just stand because they are in a hurry. The street outside Bhosarigoan 2 is always busy with scooters and people walking to the market. Sometimes the noise is so loud we have to shout a bit to hear each other. We have a small shelf behind the counter where we keep miscellaneous things like old chargers and notebooks. The light in the back of the shop flickers sometimes, and we keep saying we will fix it, but we never do. It feels like home to us, honestly. My nephew comes by in the afternoons to help out when things get a bit crowded. We usually close up around eight in the evening. By then, the street is a bit quieter and the air feels cooler. We don’t do anything fancy here, just basic work for the people who live nearby. It’s a simple life at Shiv Communication and we just keep it moving one day at a time.
