We are out on the Saswad Alandi Road at number 44. It is a long road with a lot of heavy vehicles passing by all day and night. We deal with metals here, so the yard is always full of stacks of iron and steel. It’s a noisy place to be because of the loading and unloading. We have a few old cranes and scales that we use to manage the inventory. The dust from the road gets into everything, so the office always has a layer of grit on the windows. We don't really have a formal way of doing things. We just see what comes in and figure out where it needs to go. My father started this and now a few of us just keep it running. We don't have any polished brochures or a sales team. People who need metal just know to stop by our gate. We spend most of our time wearing heavy boots and checking the quality of the scrap that gets brought in. It’s hard on the back and the hands, but it’s honest work. When it rains, the whole yard turns into a bit of a swamp, which makes everything take twice as long. We just deal with it and keep the trucks moving. It’s a straightforward life on the edge of the city, focusing on the weight and the price of the metal each day.
