If you are looking for Shanti Stores, we are right at 719 S V Road in Narayan Peth. It’s a familiar spot for most of the people who live around here. We carry a bit of everything that folks might need for their daily lives. The shop windows are usually cluttered with whatever new stock we just got in. It isn't a very modern looking place, but it works for us and our customers. We open up early and usually stay late until the foot traffic on S V Road starts to thin out. There is always someone coming in for a small item they forgot or just to see what we have on the shelves. We have a few old wooden counters that have been here since the beginning. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the weather is bad, but we just keep going. It’s a local business and we run it that way, with a lot of personal interaction. We don't use any fancy inventory systems; we mostly just keep track of things in a large ledger and by looking at the shelves. It can get a little dusty in the corners where the older stock sits, but we try to keep the main areas tidy. It’s just a simple store where we try to be helpful and provide what people are looking for. We've seen kids grow up and start coming in with their own families now, which is quite something.
