Shama Furniture

Shama Furniture is down at 19/9 on the ground floor in Hingane Khurd. We’ve been here for a good while now. It’s a ground floor shop, so it’s easy for people to just walk in from the street. We sell all kinds of home stuff like sofas and beds. It gets a bit crowded in here because we try to fit as much as we can on the floor. You might have to squeeze past a wardrobe to see the dining tables. We are just regular people who know a thing or two about wood and fabric. If a customer wants something specific, we try to find it for them. We don't do those fancy computer designs. We just show you what we have or what we can make with our hands. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My brother helps out with the deliveries and I stay in the shop. Sometimes the floor gets dusty because the door is always open to the road. People from around Hingane Khurd know us by name. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on people telling their neighbors that they got a decent bed from us. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters at night. We’ve lived in this neighborhood all our lives and like it here.
