Hari Om Furnitures

At Hari Om Furnitures we are based at Nehru Nagar on Plot No 1. Our shop is at number 25. It’s a place where there’s always the smell of wood and the sound of cutting or hammering. We have been here in Nehru Nagar for a long time and most of the people who live in the plots nearby know our face. We don’t have a massive showroom with bright lights. Most of our items are kept in a way that uses every inch of space we have. You might see some half-finished cupboards or chairs standing around waiting for the final polish. We use a lot of local wood and try to make things that will last for a long time in people's homes. The street outside is usually quiet compared to the main city roads but we still get a lot of foot traffic from people looking to furnish their new flats. Plot No 1 is right at the edge of the section so it’s easy to pull a truck up to load the finished furniture. Sometimes we get custom requests for specific sizes of tables or shelves and we spend the afternoon measuring and sketching things out on scraps of paper. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. We don’t really do much advertising because word of mouth from the neighbors in Nehru Nagar is usually enough to keep the work coming in. It’s a simple life making furniture.
