Shades N Drapes

Shades N Drapes is situated at 777 Sadashiv Peth. Most people know where we are because we are right next to Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwala. If you have ever been there for sweets, you have probably walked past our door. We are also right across from the Vishrambaugwada Post Office. It is a very old and busy part of the city. Being in Sadashiv Peth means there is always a crowd outside, and the noise from the street never really stops. Inside the shop, we have rolls of fabric and samples for curtains and blinds everywhere. It can feel a bit cramped when we have more than two or three customers at once. We spend a lot of time helping people pick out colors that won't clash with their walls. Sometimes people bring in photos of their windows, and we try to figure out what would work best. Measuring for drapes is a bit of an art, and even after doing it for years, we still have to double-check everything. The shop has that old-building smell, which we kind of like. It is a straightforward business. We sell you the shades, and then we make sure they fit. We don't have a website that does everything for you; we prefer it when people come in and actually touch the fabric before they decide. It just feels more honest that way. It is a simple trade.
