Shalibhadra Steels

Kalamboli is a massive place if you're looking for steel, and our yard at Shalibhadra Steels is at Plot No. 378. It’s mostly just open space filled with steel stacks. We spend most of our time outside, regardless of the weather. When it rains, the yard gets a bit muddy, but we still have to get the trucks loaded. It isn't a fancy name you see on billboards; we’re just another plot in this big industrial hub. We have a small cabin for the paperwork, but nobody stays in there for very long. Most of the work involves checking the weight and making sure the right pieces are going out. It can get pretty exhausting moving heavy stuff all day, but that’s the job. We see a lot of drivers coming through from all over, and we try to get them on their way quickly so they don’t get stuck in the Kalamboli traffic. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just buy and sell steel and try to keep enough stock so people don't leave empty-handed. It’s a straightforward business. Some of the guys have been working here for years, so we all know the routine pretty well by now. It’s a lot of grit and heavy lifting, but it’s what we do. We deal with all kinds of people, from big contractors to small workshop owners. It’s a bit of a dusty life out here, and the sun really beats down on the metal.
