Sasun Hospital Word No-17

If you are looking for Ward No-17, you have to head over toward Ambedkar Chowk, right by the Pune Station. It is a specific corner of the hospital that stays quite busy through the day and night. We have seventeen beds mostly filled up, and there is a lot of coming and going from families bringing food or just sitting by their relatives. The windows here look out toward the station area, so you get all that city noise coming in. It is not the kind of place you come for luxury. The paint is peeling a bit in the corners and the furniture has seen better days, but the medicine is there and the staff do their rounds. We stay on our feet most of the shift, moving between the beds and the small desk we use for paperwork. It gets really crowded during visiting hours, and the air gets a bit heavy. People mostly keep to themselves or chat quietly with their neighbors in the next bed over. It is just one small part of a very large hospital complex in a very busy part of Pune. We see a lot of different people every single day. Some stay for a night and others are here much longer. We just try to get through the long list of tasks and make sure everyone is looked after. That is how our days go.
