Saras Pan Shop

You can find Saras Pan Shop at the Ashoka Centre by Ambedkar Chowk in Kranti Nagar. It’s a small place, really just a counter where we put everything together, but it serves the neighborhood well. Ambedkar Chowk is always busy with people waiting for buses or just walking through Kranti Nagar. We get a lot of foot traffic throughout the day and late into the evening. Running a pan shop is mostly about being there when people want something after their meal or just for a quick break. We have all the usual ingredients laid out and we make each one as people ask for it. It’s a very social kind of job because you end up talking to everyone who stops by. We’ve been at the Ashoka Centre for a while now, so we know most of the people who live and work around here. The shop isn't big enough for people to sit down, so it’s all about quick service. We keep the counter tidy and just focus on the work. It’s not a complicated business, but it requires us to be there every day. We like the bustle of the chowk and seeing the different people who come through Kranti Nagar. It is just a simple, local pan shop where we just try to keep things running smoothly for everyone who visits during their daily commute.
