I’ve been working out of Shaniwar Peth for a long time now. My place is at Krishna Niwas in Mali Colony. It's a quiet enough area, though it gets busy near Panpurkar Colony Road during the afternoons. I don't have a huge team or a shiny showroom. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers sometimes. We do a lot of wood stuff and general repairs. You can usually hear the sound of a saw or a hammer if you walk past. I keep my tools organized in the back room, though things get messy when we are in the middle of a big job. Shaniwar Peth has a lot of history and I like being tucked away in this part of town. Neighbors often stop by just to say hello or ask if I can fix a broken chair leg. I don’t mind. I’ve lived around here long enough that everyone knows where to find me. The commute isn't much since I'm right here. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit muddy, but that's just part of it. I spend most of my mornings drinking a cup of tea before I start on the orders. It’s not a fast-paced corporate life. I take the work as it comes. It feels good to finish something with your own hands. I’m usually here from early morning until the sun goes down.
