Sakshi Telecom

Being on 5th Avenue in Koregaon Park is interesting because the crowd is always changing and moving. Sakshi Telecom is right there on the 5th Main Road at number 42. It’s a busy spot with lots of shops, cafes, and people walking their dogs. We handle mobile phones, but also simple things like sim cards and recharging accounts for people who don't want to bother doing it online. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every bit of wall space for all the headphones, cables, and cases we sell. We get all kinds of people coming in—college students, office workers, and people who live in the big houses nearby. Sometimes someone comes in because they forgot their phone password and they’re panicking about their photos. We try to help them out without making a big deal of it. It’s a lot of talking and explaining how certain settings work. The street outside is usually packed with cars and bikes, so it can get pretty noisy during the peak hours. We’ve been in this location for a good bit of time now. We don’t have a fancy website or a social media manager; we just open the shutters in the morning and see who walks in through the door. It’s a simple way to run a business in such a fast-moving area. We keep some cold water in the fridge for our regulars. It feels like a small part of the neighborhood.
