Sainath Lunch Home

Sainath Lunch Home is tucked away in H M T Layout on the 3rd Cross. If you are walking down 7th Main or near the CBI Main Road, you might see us. It’s a busy little spot, especially when the afternoon hits and everyone from the nearby offices gets their break. We don't have a huge menu, just the regular meals that people eat every day. The kitchen is always hot and you can hear the clatter of plates and spoons from the front of the shop. I’m usually the one clearing the tables or bringing out the water jugs for the customers. Chikhlee is a place where people are always on the move, so we try to keep things simple for them. The benches are wooden and a bit worn out now from all the use. We have been here for a while and the same faces come in every Monday through Friday. It’s predictable work. You chop vegetables, you wash the floor, and you serve the food as fast as you can. Sometimes we run out of something and have to tell people we're sorry. That’s just how it goes when you’re busy and haven't had time to rest. When the lunch rush ends, we finally get a chance to eat our own food and sit for a minute. The walls have a few old calendars on them and the front door stays open to let some air in. It’s just a normal place to get a meal.
