If you go through Hadapsar, you might pass by Sahara Electronic. We don’t have a fancy building or a big neon sign that stands out from a mile away. It’s just a local shop where we keep a variety of electronics and parts. The traffic in Hadapsar is famous for being bad, so we spend a lot of time looking out the front door at the line of cars. Inside, the shop is filled with the smell of solder and old plastic. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, mostly filled with things we’ve collected over the years. Some of it is new, and some of it is just spare parts we keep in case someone needs a repair. We don't really do big advertising campaigns. Most people come here because they live nearby and their TV or fridge is acting up. It’s just a couple of us working here, often with a screwdriver in hand. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking, and the counter is scratched up. We don’t have a script for how we talk to customers. We just answer their questions and try to find what they’re looking for in the back. It’s a simple life running a shop in this part of town. We open the doors, see who comes in, and try to keep the electronics running and the shop tidy. It's not always easy but we stay.
