Saffron Vegetarian

Our place is at 1/1 Rambaug Colony on Lal Bahadur Shastri Road in Pune. We are right across from the Bharat petrol pump in the Navi Peth area. It’s a good spot because people always need petrol, so they see us. We only do vegetarian food here. The kitchen staff is a small group of people who have worked together for a long time. We don’t have a big corporate manual. We just know how things should be done. Sometimes the orders take a bit longer if we are short-staffed, but people usually understand. We keep the place simple. Plain walls, standard lights, and some plants that we try to keep alive. The traffic on LBS Road is always heavy. You can hear the buses and bikes all day. We’ve been here long enough that the local shopkeepers come by for their lunch. We don’t do fancy plating. The food is just served on regular plates. We clean the kitchen every night after we close, which takes a while. Sometimes the sink gets blocked and we have to fix it ourselves. It's not a glamorous life but it's our business. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in Pune. We just want to be the place where you can get a decent meal without any fuss. Saffron Vegetarian is just a part of the neighborhood, and we like it that way.
