Sada General Store

Sada General Store is located in Sadashiv Peth, not far from the Sai Baba Temple. It's a quiet enough spot until the temple days. We see a lot of people walking by. Some stop for a bottle of water or some change. I've been sitting at this counter for quite a while now. The space is a bit tight with all the crates stacked up, but we make it work. Every morning is the same routine. Milk bags arrive first, then the newspapers. I try to keep the place organized, but things get messy when it’s busy. We carry the usual stuff like oil, tea leaves, and some sweets for the kids. I know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s nice to chat about the weather or the local news while I weigh out the grains. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit in the shade until it comes back. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. Pune is getting crowded, but our little corner feels okay. I sometimes lose track of time when I'm rearranging the jars on the top shelf. It's a lot of standing, and my back hurts by evening, but the shop needs to stay open. We just keep going, day after day. It’s not much, but it’s our living and we like it here. My family helps me out when the rush gets too big.
