Sachin Fabrication

Sachin Fabrication is located right on the Mumbai Pune Road in Bopodi. If you drive past, you'll probably hear the sound of welding or grinding. It's a dusty place, mostly because of all the metal shavings and the road traffic. We do a lot of ironwork here. Gates, window grills, stuff like that. We have some heavy machinery and a lot of scrap metal piled in the corners. It’s not a showroom. It’s a workshop. We spend our days wearing masks and gloves, trying to get the joints right. Sometimes it’s hot, especially in the summer with the torches going. We take measurements, cut the pipes, and weld them together. People bring us drawings or just explain what they want. We try to make it solid so it lasts. The floor is concrete and usually covered in black dust. We've been in Bopodi for quite a while now. The road outside is always busy with trucks. We just stay inside and focus on the steel. It's heavy work. Our clothes usually have a few burn holes in them from the sparks. We don't use fancy computers for design, just chalk on the floor or a pencil on a piece of paper. It works for us. We just make things out of metal and hope they serve the purpose they were meant for. Sometimes the power cuts off and we have to wait a bit.
