S K Mobile

It's usually quite busy around Deccan Gymkhana, and our spot here near Marine Drive is right in the middle of it. S K Mobile isn't a massive showroom or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we deal with mobile phones all day long. Some mornings we spend just cleaning the glass counters because the dust from the road gets everywhere. We have people coming in for all sorts of things, maybe a new charger because they lost theirs on the bus, or a phone that won't turn on after a drop. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet when there aren't many customers. The floor has a few scuffs from moving the heavy display units around last year. Our chairs are a bit old but they do the job for the long hours we spend here. We know most of the people who work in the nearby shops, and we often swap stories about the traffic or the weather. It’s a simple life. We keep a stock of various brands, but we don't try to push anything on anyone. People usually know what they want anyway. We just help them find it or fix what they already have. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there in the dark for a bit until it comes back. It's just a regular local shop for regular people who live around here.
