Our kitchen is based in Shaniwar Peth, at number 202. It is a busy place, especially in the mornings when we are getting everything ready for the day's orders. We do catering for all sorts of events, so there is always something bubbling on the stove or being chopped on the big wooden tables. The air always smells like fried onions or fresh spices. It is not a big commercial kitchen with stainless steel everything, just a practical space where we can cook food for our customers. We use large pots and pans that have been with us since we started. There are usually four or five of us working in there, moving around each other in a way that only comes from years of practice. The street outside in Shaniwar Peth is quite narrow, so loading the food into the vans can be a bit tricky if there is a lot of traffic. We do not have a fancy website or a glossy menu. Most of our work comes from people who have tried our food at a party or a wedding. We just tell them what we can do and go from there. It is a lot of hard work and long hours standing on our feet, but we enjoy seeing people eat what we have made. It is a straightforward business and we try to keep it that way. Most nights we are tired, but it is good to know we fed people well.
