Royal Varieties

Our shop is situated at Deccan Gymkhana 1261. The name Royal Varieties says it all, we carry a bit of everything. You might find some household items, maybe some stationery, or little things you didn't know you needed until you saw them on the shelf. It’s one of those places where things are stacked up pretty high. We’ve been in the Deccan area for quite some time now. It’s a lively part of town with a lot of students and families walking around. The shop isn't very modern. It has that old-school feel where you have to ask where something is because there's so much stuff. We don't really have a big staff, just us keeping an eye on things and helping people find what they’re looking for. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by. Other days, it’s a constant stream of people needing small bits and pieces for their homes. We don't do any big promotions. We just keep the shelves stocked as best as we can. It’s a simple life running a variety store. You meet a lot of different people every day. We like being part of the community here at 1261. It’s just a normal shop doing its thing. There is always something new to unpack or organize. We don't mind the clutter, it's just part of how we run things. You get used to the narrow aisles after a while.
