Ritesh General Store

Ritesh General Store is situated along Karve Road at Shankarwadi, near Somatne Patha, just off Mumbai Pune Highway 5. Being so close to the highway means there is a constant hum of engines in the background. It never really gets quiet until very late at night. We keep the store stocked with all the usual things people might need in a hurry. The shelves are packed, and sometimes things get a bit disorganized when it's busy. We don't mind it much. Shankarwadi is a place where people are always on the move. We see travelers coming off the highway and locals from the nearby houses. It’s a small shop, and we don't try to make it look like something it isn't. The front step is a bit worn, and the paint is peeling in a few spots. That is just what happens when you are open every day. We spend our time checking dates on packages and sweeping the dust that blows in from the road. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when it’s hot outside and the fans are barely keeping up. But we like being here. Being at Somatne Patha gives us a good view of the traffic. We aren't a big chain, just a regular general store trying to be useful to whoever stops by. It’s a simple life, and we are quite okay with that.
