Down in Khadki we have this small shop where we handle all the phone stuff that people need help with. It is a busy little corner of the world and there is almost always someone standing at the counter asking about a recharge or a new sim card. I have been sitting behind this glass for a while now and I know most of the people who walk past the door every day. The walls are covered in posters and small gadgets that are hanging on hooks and it can feel a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. Khadki has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of that daily life. I spend a lot of time looking at small screens and typing in numbers which can get a bit tiring for the eyes by the end of the shift. We have a few stools for people to sit on while they wait for their phones to update or for a payment to go through. It isn't a high-tech looking place despite the nature of the business but it works for us and the customers. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power flickers and we just have to wait it out like everyone else in the neighborhood. It is just a regular shop trying to keep people connected without making it too complicated or stressful.
