Ratnlok Pan Stall

Ratnlok Pan Stall is right here in Akurdi. It’s just a small stall, not much to look at if you’re driving by fast. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. People stop by after they finish their dinner or while they’re waiting for a bus. We have all the jars lined up on the shelf. You can see the betel leaves stacked up under the wet cloth to keep them fresh. It’s a small space, so everything is within arm’s reach. We don't have a fancy storefront or big lights. Just a simple wooden counter and some stools nearby. The talk around the stall is usually about the weather or what’s happening in Akurdi that day. We know most of the people who stop by by their first names. It’s a busy little corner, especially in the evening when the sun goes down and the street lights come on. We spend most of our time folding leaves and mixing the ingredients just right. It’s a bit of a messy job, but we’re used to it. The smell of the spices stays on your hands all day. We aren't looking to grow into a big company. We like being the local spot where people can grab a quick pan and chat for a minute before heading home. It’s steady work and it keeps us connected to the neighborhood here. We just keep the jars filled and wait for the next person.
