Ramesh Provision Store

My name is Ramesh and I’ve been running this little shop at Plot No 15 for quite some time now. We are right opposite the Central Bank of India in Mahavir Colony, which makes it easy for people to find us when they are out doing their banking. The store is usually full of sacks and boxes because we try to keep everything people need for their kitchens. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in here, especially in the mornings when everyone wants their milk and bread at the same time. I spend most of my day behind the counter, weighing out dal or packing up sugar for the neighbors. It is hard work staying on your feet all day, but I like seeing the same faces every week. We have been here in Mahavir Colony long enough that I know most of the kids who come in for sweets. The shop isn't fancy or anything, just a regular place with wooden shelves and a fan that squeaks a bit in the summer. We keep the basics like oil, soap, and grains. If someone needs something specific and we don't have it, I try to get it from the market the next day. It is just me and a couple of boys helping out with the heavy lifting. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache sometimes, but that is part of the job. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the scales are accurate.
