Ramesh Mini Market

You can find us at Aundh Zaveri Bazar 157. This is a small grocery and general store where we sell everything from pulses to soap. The shop is usually a bit dark inside because the shelves are so high and full of stuff for the kitchen. We start very early in the morning when the milk arrives in the crates. The bags are cold and wet, and we have to get them into the shop quickly before the customers arrive. Aundh is a busy place, but Zaveri Bazar has its own rhythm during the day. We know most of our customers by what they buy every day of the week. There is a lot of dust that comes in from the street, so we have to wipe the jars and packets quite often. We have a small wooden desk where we keep the cash and a thick ledger for the accounts. We don't use those fancy barcode scanners, we just remember the prices of most things in our heads. It is a lot of work carrying the heavy sacks of rice and flour to the back of the shop. My back hurts sometimes, but that is part of the job we do. We have a small cat that hangs around the entrance sometimes. We don't have any big sales or promotions. We just sell what people need for their homes. It is a local shop and we are just local people working here.
