Rajmudra Pan Shop

Being at 191 Jaijawan Nagar in Yerwada means we see a lot of different people every single day. Rajmudra Pan Shop is a small space, but it’s an important one for the guys who live around here. We open up and start arranging the leaves first thing. Everything has to be in its place, from the different types of tobacco to the sweet masalas. It’s not a big shop, just a small counter where we stand for hours. The street outside in Jaijawan Nagar is always moving with people going to work or kids coming back from school. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who stop by for a quick pan or a cigarette after their meals. It’s the kind of place where people linger for a minute to talk about the news or the weather before moving on. We don’t have fancy displays or anything polished. The walls are a bit worn, and the counter has seen better days, but it works for us. Working in a pan shop is mostly about rhythm. You fold the leaf, put the ingredients in, and hand it over. We do this hundreds of times. Yerwada is a busy place, and being at number 191 puts us right in the middle of it. We just try to keep things simple and keep the supplies stocked up so we don't run out when the evening crowd shows up. It is a small life but a busy one. We like seeing the same faces every night.
