Rahul Kirana is right here in Govind Nagar 16, along the Ambegaon Haji Bapu Road. We sell the usual things you find in a grocery store like sacks of grains, oil, and spices. The shop is quite small, so we have to stack the rice bags pretty high against the walls. It’s a lot of lifting and moving stuff around every morning. We open up early because people need milk and bread before they go to their jobs. Most of our customers live just a few minutes away in the surrounding buildings. We recognize their kids and see them growing up over the years. The street outside can get quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up. We spend a good amount of time sweeping the floor. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a bit while we unload the heavy crates. It’s just the way things work on Haji Bapu Road. We don't have any computer systems for billing, we just use a notebook and a pen. It works fine for us. Sometimes we forget where we put a certain brand of tea, and we have to look through the shelves for a minute. People are patient because they know us. We are just a local family shop trying to keep the pantry staples ready for whoever walks in. The light inside is a bit dim in the back, but we know exactly where everything is kept.
