Radhika Metal has its home in Wanawadi Hole Nagar at Survey No 11. It is basically a yard where we handle all sorts of metal pieces and parts. The ground is usually covered in scrap and the air smells like iron and rust most of the time. We aren’t a big corporation; it’s just a local operation where we sort through materials and figure out what can be used. Working at Survey No 11 means we have a bit of space, but it always seems to fill up faster than we can clear it out. We spend our days lifting heavy stuff and using shears or cutters. It is physically demanding work and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. Wanawadi is a decent area to work in, and we’ve gotten to know the other business owners nearby quite well. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a polished website. If someone needs metal, they just come down to the yard and talk to us directly. The sun can be pretty brutal when we are working outside, but that’s just part of the deal. We take things as they come and try to keep the piles organized as best as we can. It’s a simple, gritty business and we don’t try to make it sound like anything else. We are just here doing the work every day.
