Purshottam Caterers

We operate out of Navi Peth, specifically at Jaya Nagar 4th T Block, house number 994. This isn't a restaurant where you can come and sit. It’s more of a big kitchen where we prepare food for events. My father started this, and now we all help out. The house is always full of the smell of spices being ground up. We have big industrial stoves and giant pots that can hold enough food for a hundred people. Most of our work happens on the weekends when people have their parties or family gatherings. During the week, we spend a lot of time cleaning and ordering supplies. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and answers it. The 4th T Block area is mostly residential, so we try to keep the noise down, but it’s hard when you are chopping vegetables at four in the morning. We use local markets for everything we buy. Sometimes the deliveries are late, and we have to scramble to get things ready on time. It’s a stressful job but we are used to it by now. We don't have a big van, just a couple of small vehicles to transport the food. It’s a family business through and through. We do our best every day and keep the kitchen running.
