Purna Dal Mill

Purna Dal Mill is situated at Plot No. 507 in Puran Garh, near Nira. The mill is a loud place once the machines start running. There’s a constant hum and the smell of lentils in the air. We process a lot of dal here every day. The floors are often covered in a fine dust from the milling process. I spend my time between the machines and the small office room. We have big weighing scales and lots of empty bags waiting to be filled. It’s a lot of work to keep everything clean and running smoothly. The yard outside is usually full of trucks coming to drop off raw materials or pick up the finished product. Puran Garh is a good location for this kind of work. I’ve been running this mill for years now. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The staff is small, mostly local people from the Nira area. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything for visitors. If you come by, you’ll probably find me covered in dust or checking a machine. We just focus on getting the dal processed and shipped out. It’s a simple, hardworking environment. The machinery is old but reliable. We keep it running as best as we can. When the harvest is good, we work through the night to keep up with all the orders coming in from the district.
