Our shop is at number 36 in Kothrud, right across from the PNG Road. It’s a small place, but it’s full of the sound of hundreds of clocks ticking at once. If you sit still for a minute, you really start to notice it. We spend our days looking through small magnifying glasses at tiny gears and springs. It’s quiet work, mostly. The shop isn't very big, so we have watches and clocks lining almost every inch of the wall space. People walk in from the busy Kothrud streets with old timepieces that haven't worked in years, hoping we can bring them back to life. We don't have fancy displays or high-tech gadgets; just a few sturdy workbenches and the tools we’ve been using for a long time. The light coming through the front window is usually the best place to see the fine details of a watch movement. Sometimes we get stuck on a tricky repair and it takes a few days of tinkering to get it right. It’s a slow pace of life inside the shop, which is funny considering we’re surrounded by things that measure time. Outside, the road is always loud with bikes and cars, but in here, we just focus on the tiny parts. It’s a simple way to earn a living, and we enjoy the quiet of the work. Most of our regulars have been coming here for years just to get a battery changed or a strap fixed.
