Priya Super Market

This shop is in Bhosarigoan Alewa, right in New Model Town. I remember when this area wasn't so built up, but now there are houses everywhere. It keeps the shop busy, which is good. We carry a bit of everything—detergent, snacks, dairy, and all the cooking essentials. The shelves are quite high, so I have to use a small ladder to reach the top rows. It’s a bit of a workout going up and down all day. I try to keep the floor swept, but with people coming in from the dusty street, it’s a constant battle. We have a small fridge for the milk and curd, and sometimes it makes a loud humming noise that I really should get fixed. The kids from the neighborhood come in after their cricket games for cold drinks. I like seeing the same faces year after year, seeing the kids grow up. It’s a lot of work managing the stock and making sure we don’t run out of the popular brands of tea. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow road and the neighbors get a bit annoyed. We just apologize and try to move the crates as fast as we can. It’s not a perfect shop, but it serves the people of New Model Town well enough. I usually lock up around nine and head home just a few streets away.
