Pratiksha General Stores

Pratiksha General Stores is situated in Dhankawdi, right in the heart of Pune City. Our shop is a small, practical place where we keep the essentials for everyday living. We have been here for a good number of years and have seen the neighborhood grow and change. It’s a simple setup with wooden shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We keep everything from spices to notebooks. The shop can get a bit disorganized when we receive new boxes, but we try to sort it out as fast as we can. Most of our customers are people living in the nearby buildings. We see them every morning when they come for milk or eggs. It’s a friendly atmosphere, and we often share a bit of local news over the counter. We don't have a staff of many people. Usually, it’s just one or two of us handling everything. The weather in Pune is usually okay, but the shop gets warm in the summer afternoons. We use an old desk for our cash box and ledger. There isn't anything corporate about us. We just run a regular store for regular people. We try to stay stocked with the things people ask for most. It’s a small business, but it keeps us connected to the people around us. We have a small plastic clock on the wall that's usually five minutes fast. Sometimes the neighbors bring us a cup of tea while we are working through the list of things to do.
