Our factory is located out in Village Pimple Jagtap, which is in the Shirur Taluka. It’s a bit of a drive out from the main city, near the G.K.W. Limited gate on the Chakan Shikrapur Road. Being out here means we have more space for the heavy metal work we do. The sounds of the factory are a constant background to our day—clanging metal and the hum of big machines. We deal with large sheets and coils of metal, so it is a very physical place to work. It can get quite dusty and the ground is usually covered in scrap bits. We don't have a polished corporate office. Most of the administrative work happens in a small room right off the main floor where you can still hear everything going on outside. The workers live mostly in the nearby village areas, so there is a local feel to the place even though we are a company. We focus on getting the production numbers right and making sure the trucks are loaded safely. The weather out here in the district can be quite harsh, really hot in the summer and very rainy, but the work doesn't stop. We just keep the machines running and the metal moving. It’s a simple, hardworking environment where we focus on the task at hand without any fancy talk. The road to Chakan can be pretty rough with all the heavy trucks, so we are used to the bumps. Life in the village moves a bit slower than the city, but inside the factory, it is always fast.
