Bhawani Peth is always moving, and we’re right in the middle of it at number 233. The street is narrow so getting trucks in and out is always a bit of a gamble with the traffic. Our place is mostly just a big room with high ceilings and a lot of things stacked up to the roof. It smells like old paper and a bit of dust, which isn't great for the allergies but that’s just the atmosphere here. We don’t really have a fancy front office or anything like that. There’s just an old wooden table where we sit and write out the bills by hand. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit there in the dark for a bit until it comes back. It gives us a chance to stretch our legs and talk to the neighbors. Everyone around here knows each other, so there’s always someone popping their head in to say hello or borrow a stapler. We keep a busy schedule but we aren't in a rush to change anything. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks from years of moving heavy crates around. It’s a solid place, even if it looks a bit tired. We don't spend much on decorating because it wouldn't stay clean for long anyway. Most days are the same, just keeping the inventory straight and making sure we don’t run out of the basics. It's honest work in a busy part of town.
