Poona Consumer Store

We are located in Dhanakawadi at Kareliba 1. This is a basic consumer store for the people living nearby. We sell the things people need every day like soap and flour and tea. The shelves are packed tight from the floor all the way to the ceiling. It is a bit cramped inside the store but we know where every single item is kept. We have been serving this neighborhood for many years now. The morning is our busiest time when everyone is getting stuff for their breakfast. I have seen the kids in the neighborhood grow up and eventually start coming in with their own children. We do not have a barcode scanner or anything high-tech. I usually do the math in my head or on a small pad of paper. Sometimes we run out of milk or bread if the delivery truck is running late. People around here understand how it is. It is a friendly place to be. We have a small bench outside where the older men like to sit and talk. I keep a fan running behind the counter but it does not do much during the summer heat. We do not do home delivery because we do not have a vehicle for it. Most people just walk over from their houses. We keep the store open late because that is when people realize they forgot something.
