Pooja Varieties & General Store

Our shop is tucked away in Balaji Chambers, which is over in the Maharana Pratap Nagar part of Wanawadi. It is a decent-sized place where we keep all sorts of different things. The name says variety store because we try to have a bit of everything, not just groceries. You can find stationery, some basic household items, and the usual snacks and cold drinks. Pune is a growing city, and Wanawadi has changed a lot, but we try to keep that local feel. People stop by on their way home or when they realize they ran out of something important like light bulbs or batteries. The shelves are pretty packed and it can be a bit hard to find things if you aren't used to the layout, but we know where everything is. It is just me and a couple of others working here. We don't really have a big corporate setup or anything like that. It’s more of a family-style environment where we recognize the people who live in the nearby buildings. Sometimes we get students looking for specific pens and notebooks, and other times it is parents buying milk or bread. Every day is a little bit different, which keeps the job interesting. We just keep the doors open and try to be helpful to whoever walks in from the street. If you need something specific, we can usually find it if you give us a second to look.
