Piyush Super Market

Our shop is over in Vadgoensheri at A/41/1. It’s called Piyush Super Market but don’t let the name make you think it’s one of those massive malls. It’s a decent sized store where we keep all the things people in the neighborhood need every day. I spend most of my day stocking shelves or talking to the ladies who come in for their morning groceries. It gets really busy around 7 PM when everyone is coming home from work. The floor gets a bit dirty when it rains outside but we try to sweep it when there’s a gap. We have the usual stuff like rice, dal, soaps, and some snacks for the kids. I sometimes forget to update the prices on the little stickers right away but we sort it at the counter. My nephew helps me out on the weekends when it’s crowded. We’ve been at this Vadgoensheri spot for a while now. The fridge for the cold drinks makes a humming sound that I don’t even notice anymore. It's just a normal shop for normal people. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything like that. Just us in our regular clothes helping out the neighbors. If we don’t have something today, I usually try to get it in the next delivery. It's a lot of work but it keeps us busy and out of trouble.
