Persistent Systems Ltd has a spot over here in the Samal Barrage Township in the Angul district. It’s a bit different from working in a big city because the township is its own little world. Everything is kind of quiet and spread out. You don't have the same noise or rush here. Our office is a basic setup meant for getting the job done. We’ve got the essentials and not much else. Living and working in a township means you see the same faces every day, which is nice in its own way. The weather in Orissa can be pretty harsh, so we mostly stay indoors and keep the work moving. There isn't a lot of "corporate" feeling here; it's more like a group of people who happen to work in the same place. We don't have big signs or anything flashy. Most people in the township know where we are anyway. We deal with the usual stuff like power cuts or slow internet now and then, but we just manage. It’s a very practical existence. We don't spend time on big presentations or long meetings about nothing. We just look at what needs to be finished and we do it. It’s a slow, steady kind of environment that works for us. When the day is over, it’s a short walk back home for most of the people here, which is a nice change from city life.
