Parveen Novelties

You can find us at Kasba Peth, specifically on Dr E Moses Road at 36/37. Parveen Novelties is full of all sorts of random things. We have toys, small gifts, stationery, and things you didn't know you needed until you saw them on our shelf. It is a bit of a maze inside. We try to keep it organized, but when kids come in, everything gets moved around. Kasba Peth is an old area with a lot of character. We’ve been here long enough to see kids grow up and start bringing their own children to the shop. It makes us feel a bit old, but it’s nice. We don’t do much advertising. People just know we are here. The shop has a specific smell of plastic and paper. Sometimes we have to dig through the back to find a specific item a customer remembers from last year. We aren't a big chain store with matching uniforms. We just wear what’s comfortable and talk to people like they are our neighbors, because they usually are. The lights are a bit dim in the back, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a practical way to run things. We stay open until the street goes quiet. Some days are loud with school children and other days are just quiet hours of dusting the shelves. We just take it as it comes and keep the door open.
