Parmanand Chataram Provision Store

The Parmanand Chataram Provision Store is located at Pimpri Colony 408. We have been serving this neighborhood for many years and we are usually the first ones to open up in the morning. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with bags of flour, lentils, soaps, and just about anything else a household might need. It is a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles when we have just received a fresh shipment of goods. We don't have a lot of extra space for storage, so everything just goes right onto the shelves or into stacks on the floor. The counter is where we spend most of our time, weighing out sugar or counting change for the local residents. We know almost everyone by their first name and we often hear all the latest news from around the colony while we are bagging up groceries. It is a very simple way of doing business. We don't have a computer system or anything fancy like that. We just use a paper notebook to keep track of what we owe and what is owed to us. The shop can get quite warm in the afternoon, so we leave the door wide open to catch any breeze that might be blowing through Pimpri Colony. It is a busy, noisy, and sometimes messy place, but it is our livelihood. We are just happy to be here at number 408, providing the basics to the people who live nearby.
