Pakko Caterers

Our shop is at Number 4 in the Umar Complex. We are right next to the Bank of Maharashtra here in Yerawada. This isn't really a place where you sit down to eat, as we spend most of our time out at events or in the back preparing for orders. Being a catering business means our schedule is always a bit different. One day we are doing a small lunch for a local office and the next we are packing up for a bigger party somewhere else in Pune. It’s a lot of lifting heavy pots and making sure the crates are packed right so nothing spills in the van during the drive. We started Pakko Caterers because we liked the work. It’s stressful sometimes, especially when you’re worried about the food staying hot or the traffic being bad on the way to a venue. Our kitchen in the complex is busy from dawn. We have a small team and we all know our jobs. One person handles the rice, another is on the vegetables, and so on. We don't use fancy marketing because most of our work comes from people telling their neighbors about what we do. We just try to provide enough food so nobody goes away hungry. It’s hard work, and by the end of a big event, our backs usually ache and we are tired, but seeing people enjoy the meal makes it worth the effort for us. We just keep cooking.
