Our place is in the Bhosari Industrial estate at 248. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machinery and trucks moving in the background. At Orane Refractories Pvt Ltd, we work with materials that can stand up to really high heat. It’s a dusty environment because of the raw materials we use, like minerals and clays. We have big mixers and ovens that run for hours. The workers here are used to the heat and the heavy lifting involved in making bricks and linings for furnaces. It’s not a glamorous job at all. We spend a lot of time checking the consistency of the mixes and making sure the shapes are right before they go into the kilns. There are stacks of finished products waiting to be loaded onto trucks for factories across the region. We have a small office at the front where we keep the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the factory floor. It’s noisy and sometimes the air gets thick, but that’s just the nature of the work. We deal with engineers and procurement guys who need very specific types of refractory stuff for their plants. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the production schedule and trying to get the orders out on time without any cracks in the materials. It is just steady, hard work every day.
