Om Super Market

If you’re around Dhanori over in Bhoir Nagar 2, you’ve probably walked past Om Super Market. It’s tucked in there where the residential buildings are thick. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and getting the fresh bread and milk sorted out. It’s a lot of small tasks that add up. The shelves are pretty high, so we’re always climbing up and down to reach things for people. We carry most of the stuff a house needs, like lentils, spices, and the basic toiletries. It’s not a giant warehouse, so space is a bit tight, but we manage to fit a lot in. Sometimes the boxes are stacked in the corners because there’s nowhere else for them to go until we sell some stock. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but it helps you see the labels. We have a few regulars who come in every single day just for one or two items and a quick chat. It’s nice to have that connection with the area. We don’t have a big marketing plan, we just open the doors and wait for the neighbors. The floor gets a lot of footprints during the rainy season, so someone is always mopping. It’s just a normal part of running a shop in Dhanori. The front door sticks a bit when it’s humid, so you have to give it a good shove. We keep a few crates of soda near the entrance for people who are just passing through. Our shelves are mostly wood and they’ve started to sag a little under the weight. They hold up fine.
