Om Rohit Pan Shop

If you walk down Pashan Ashram Road, you’ll see my shop. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those modern stores you see in the malls. I’ve been running Om Rohit Pan Shop for a while now. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, so I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass cases. It’s a bit of a repetitive task, but it has to be done. The ashram is nearby, so the area has a certain feel to it, maybe a bit calmer than the city center. I have a few regular customers who come by at the same time every single day. We don't really talk about anything important, just small talk about how the day is going. I keep the shop open late because that’s when people like to walk around after their dinner. The streetlights aren't very bright around here, so my shop light is like a small bright spot on the road. I have a small calendar hanging on the wall with the dates crossed off in red ink. It helps me keep track of the weeks. My hands are usually stained by the end of the shift, but a bit of soap takes care of that. It’s honest work. I don’t think I’d want to be doing anything else. It’s nice to be your own boss even if the shop is quite small.
