Nitanand Pan Stall

Nitanand Pan Stall is situated in the Kharadi area, right inside the Aakash Complex on Sardar Patel Road No. 1. This part of Udyognagar in Udhna is mostly industrial and business-like. Our stall sits among a lot of other small shops and offices. It’s a very practical place. We don’t have fancy decorations. Most of our customers are workers from the nearby units or people visiting the complex for some paperwork. They usually want something quick. We keep the counter stocked with different types of pan, from the plain ones to the sweet ones with all the cherries and coconut. The road outside, Sardar Patel Road, is always moving. There’s a lot of dust because of all the construction and the trucks. I spend a lot of my day just dusting off the jars. It’s a steady job. We open up pretty early because the workers start their shifts then. By the time evening rolls around, we’re ready to close up. The stall is small and made of metal sheets mostly. It gets loud when it rains, the sound on the roof is something else. We’ve been in this complex for a while now, so the security guards and the other shop owners are like family. We just sell what people ask for and try to keep things moving. It’s a basic life here in Udhna.
