Nirman Engineers & Contractors

You can find us at the City Center in Deccan Gymkhana, right across from the Ayurveda Rasashala. Nirman Engineers & Contractors is based in room 205. It’s a central spot, which makes it easy for us to get to the various sites we’re working on. The office itself is pretty simple—lots of blueprints rolled up in corners and a few sturdy desks that have seen better days. We aren't much for fancy decorations or expensive furniture. We spend more time out in the field than we do sitting behind these desks anyway. When we are here, it’s usually to handle the billing or to talk through a technical problem that’s come up on a job. The City Center building is always humming with activity since there are so many other businesses around. Sometimes the parking is a bit of a nightmare, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We’ve got a small crew, mostly people who have been in the construction industry for a long time. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes on their vada pav. It’s an honest way to make a living. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the structures built right. There’s always a fresh pot of coffee going, and usually someone is complaining about the heat or the rain, depending on the season. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest just picks it up. It's how we do things.
